LSI StoreAge SVM Wins 2009 Storage Magazine UK Award for Storage Virtualization Product of the Year

LSI virtualization software wins for second consecutive year

LSI Corporation (NYSE: LSI) announced that its LSI™ StoreAge™ SVM™ (Storage Virtualization Manager) product has been named the 2009 Storage Virtualization Product of the Year by Storage Magazine in the UK. Now in its sixth year, the Storage Awards or “Storries” recognize outstanding products, services and people in the industry as nominated and voted on by the magazine’s readership.

“Fully virtualized environments can provide users with dramatically increased storage utilization and the control they need to manage relentless data growth,” said Brian Wall, editor, Storage Magazine.

“We congratulate LSI for being recognized by our readership for offering the best storage virtualization product for the second consecutive year.”

The LSI StoreAge SVM is an advanced virtualization platform that enables centralized storage management and multi-level data protection for distributed, heterogeneous storage environments.

Based on fifth-generation architecture, the comprehensive SVM software suite includes centralized volume management, storage pooling, snapshot, volume copy, data migration and mirroring applications.

“We are delighted that the LSI StoreAge SVM software has again received such a respected award from Storage Magazine,” said Don Fautt, director of software marketing storage solutions, LSI. “It reaffirms our technical leadership in the market and reinforces the critical economic role that storage virtualization now plays in enterprise IT data centers around the world.”
