DHL Introduces the first Aircraft On Ground (AOG) Service in India
• A unique service that speedens MRO processes for the aviation sector
• Service available from 135 networked cities worldwide, into 4 locations in India – Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai
• Fastest transit time via Next Flight Option & 24/7 clearance support
DHL the global market leader in the international express and logistics industry announced today their AOG (Aircraft on Ground) services to major air carriers in India’s aviation industry. The fast growing aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) sector has witnessed significant losses per month each time an aircraft is grounded due to technical snags. DHL looks to mitigate this condition by providing an end to end logistics solution that will help the aviation sector in faster MRO processes.
As per a Ministry of Aviation report in 2007, Indian airlines alone, posted an expenditure of 68.40 crore and loss of revenue of 45.96 crore due to aircrafts on ground. A grounded aircraft eats up profits and generates no revenue. Airline companies cannot afford to have a single aircraft from their fleet grounded at any point of time. DHL’s venture will support this requirement by partnering with key players and providing them with aviation parts and especially cater to their AOG needs.
The Country Manager for DHL India, Craig Grossgart, said “We see a huge growth potential in the fast growing MRO industry and believe that our wide network will help us in providing a valuable service. The AOG service will be the fastest possible transit time for any origin to destination. “
The AOG service will offer the fastest transit time using NFO (Next Flight Out) service ensuring that the shipments are uplifted on the next direct or connecting flight out of the origin. This unique service provided by DHL recognizes the criticality of the AOG status and offers 24×7 clearance support guaranteeing clearance and delivery of shipment within 3 hours.
DHL’s substantial presence in the Aviation logistics market and its worldwide network of offices and 4000+ partner alliances will help acquire its position as a key AOG service provider. The service is available from 135 plus primary gateways and networked cities worldwide, into 4 locations in India – Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi
